The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Cook/ Chef to oversee our kitchen and restaurant operations. In this role, you will manage the kitchen staff, create a dynamic menu, and ensure high standards of food safety and quality. Your leadership will be essential in providing an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests.
About You:
* Overall management of the Calliope Bowls Club kitchen and restaurant
* Manage the performance of the kitchen and food service team
* Develop a selective menu that changes regularly to maintain variety and interest
* Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations within the catering section
* Develop, update, and enforce the Food Safety Management Plan (FSMP)
* Oversee employment and training for your team
* Work closely with Venue Manager
* Conduct regular staff meetings and organise training workshops as needed
* Cost all menus and special occasion menus
* Provide a monthly stock take sheet for the Management Team
* Place daily/weekly food orders with suppliers
* Check orders upon arrival to ensure quantity and quality meet HACCP standards
* Monitor all catering repairs and maintenance
* Replace and renew major and minor capital equipment
Essential Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
* Trade qualifications in Cookery preferred
* 4+ years of employee supervision experience
* 2+ years of experience in organising functions and conferences
* Budget management experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Strong teamwork and a pleasant personality
* Proven time management skills with confidentiality and professionalism
* Ability to work independently (self-motivated)
* Highly organised with a sense of professional pride
* Strong numerical skills
* Friendly and personable, with proven customer service skills
* Skilled in managing multiple priorities and working effectively under time constraints in a fast-paced environment
Your Reward:

* Lunch and dinner service from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
