About the roleReporting to our Head of Professional Standards, the Manager - Audit and Assurance Services will be responsible for leading, managing, and reviewing the CPA Australia Best Practice Program with a focus on members who offer audit and assurance services, ensuring that sufficient member assessments are undertaken each year and are completed to a high standard, providing value to members. Reporting into Melbourne, this role can be located in any of our capital city offices around Australia.Your Key Duties:Lead and oversee a team of internal assessors allocated to the assessment of members providing audit and assurance services, developing clear operational plans to ensure high quality and timely delivery to members with a focus on continuous improvementManage the utilization of external assessor resources to assist in the assessment of members with higher risk profilesMotivate and coach the Audit and Assurance Services Best Practice team to meet business objectives and develop team capabilityProvide trusted advice and guidance to others in and interacting with the CPA Australia Best Practice ProgramAssist in developing necessary reports and communications to internal governance committees and external stakeholders and regulators as requiredAbout you:You will have a strong background as a highly experienced, risk-focused audit professional in the accounting/audit/financial services industry. You will drive quality outcomes for the CPA Australia Best Practice Program. Prior experience as a quality reviewer of large/complex financial statement audit engagements will ensure the CPA Australia Best Practice Program is risk-focused with an objective of continuous improvement and feedback into CPA's education products.Excellent communication and member engagement skills will be essential to success in this role, which include the ability to work to applicable professional standards, explain member requirements, whilst also maintaining a strong sense of empathy and ability to engage with all staff and members. A good working knowledge of the regulatory framework is essential to be successful in this position. You are degree qualified and a current Member of CPA Australia or equivalent.
