A Typical Day in this Role
As a key member of our Financial Accounting team, you will be responsible for preparing statutory and management reports for both local management and our corporate head office in North America/Calgary.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and review of statutory financial reports, including note disclosures.
* Coordinate year-end external audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual Nutrien close schedules and associated reports.
* Responsible for monthly statutory consolidation and reporting schedules required for APRA compliance reporting.
* Account for profit and loss and balance sheet accounts, including monthly journal/general ledger reconciliations.
* Manage equity accounting for associates and joint ventures.
* Provide accurate and timely monthly analysis and commentaries on results.
* Analyse business requirements to recommend and/or develop procedures/processes to solve and implement management/financial accounting requirements.
* Complete ABS surveys and perform ad hoc tasks as directed by management.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have experience in a similar position with a proven knowledge of accounting standards, technical and practical implementation.
You will also possess:
* Degree in Accounting/Commerce.
* Completed professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA).
* Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal.
* Highly developed analytical skills.
* The ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
* Exposure to working with various teams within an organisation.
* Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proficient with MS Excel and prior experience with large ERP systems.
* Previous experience working on SAP and TM1 would be advantageous.
