The Role
As the Assistant Hatchery Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily Hatchery operations, which produces prawn post-larvae to supply Seafarms farms and smaller farms in the region.
Working closely with the Hatchery Manager, you will be responsible to ensure the highest quality of prawn broodstock and ensuring the efficient and effective production of post-larvae, managing a team of hatchery technicians, and maintaining the highest standards of biosecurity.

Job Responsibilities
Below are some job responsibilities, but not limited to:
Implementing hatchery production plans and processes to meet business objectives.
Ensuring the highest quality and quantity of post-larvae.
Maintaining biosecurity and Workplace Health and Safety protocols.
Daily operational tasks including tank preparation, stocking, feeding, water quality management, and data collection.
Collect, review, & analyse daily data & take appropriate action in coordination with the Hatchery Manager.
Sharing knowledge with the team and collaborate for system improvements and optimised results.
Identify and implement training needs.
About you
Aquaculture and/or agriculture experience is required.
Ideally a qualification in Aquaculture such as Certificate III, Bachelor of Science or similar.
Understanding and commitment to OHS and Biosecurity best practice.
Leadership experience with strong people management skills.
Positive attitude, good communication skills, and enjoy working with a team.
A current and valid driver’s licence is essential.
Applicants must have a flexible approach to working on a rotating roster, including Sundays.
