You will be responsible for delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.You will play an integral role in assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and in the provision of care that will support the health and wellbeing of members pre and post deployments.You will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.You will be supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.You may be required to provide the services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.A "Bench" role is a permanent employee status, so you will accrue sick and annual leave and know each day is a possible availability to be called in to backfill sick leave or planned leave on those days.
This does require a fair bit of flexibility and commitment to being available as you would be paid for each day. About ADF Health ServicesIn partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

To be successful in this role you'll have: The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR, Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.Please note:
