Reporting to the Head of Human Resources based in Brisbane, the People & Performance Lead takes pleasure in mentoring and guiding a team of People & Culture Business Partners, supporting our leaders nationally across the group with advice and support at a senior level and working towards continuous improvement on all people related initiatives.
Day to day you will:
* Manage a team of four (4) human resource professionals - overseeing the workflow and projects, as well as leading and mentoring the team to develop a deeper ER/IR skillset
* Support our Centres nationally in resolving industrial and policy-based queries
* Be the key Investigator on incidents, managing the process from beginning to end, and producing Executive Summaries to support the investigation and outcomes for decision-making
* Support our Centres with performance management guidance across the more complex, escalated issues
* Support the Talent Acquisition, and People and Performance teams in reviewing and approving contracts for new hires and change amendments for existing team members
* Develop and deliver training across Award interpretation, industrial relations legislation and internal people-related policies and procedures
* Respond and action on any industrial relations changes internally to ensure Green Leaves remains industrially compliant
* Develop and update internal Green Leaves policies in line with regulated changes as required, and complete the annual Policy Review
* Work across health, safety, and wellbeing to ensure the effective application of worker compensation case management and promotion of wellbeing across the group
* Drive outcomes across absenteeism, including the following up of absentee reporting to ensure effective management of excessive sick leave
* Assist in the coordination of benefits, rewards and longevity programs
* Maintain personnel and other HR related files
* Assist in the collation of data and information for HR metrics, including for departures
* Support the People & Culture Systems Officer on systems-related initiatives and programs of work.
You will hold:
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Business or other related discipline
* At least 5-10 years experience in a senior generalist Human Resources role, working across ER/IR advisory, advising and managing a diverse range of employee and industrial matters, through to effective resolution
* Demonstrated experience and success in a similar role, ideally within early learning
* In-depth knowledge and experience in all aspects of contemporary industrial and employee relations practice, including relevant legislation and Awards
* Proven track record in managing formal complaints and conducting investigations
* The ability to build strong relationships with a range of different internal and external stakeholders
* Strong skills in collaborating and working closely with others to achieve outcomes
* Effective communication, problem-solving, negotiation, conflict resolution and influencing skills to navigate, guide and resolve complex people issues to outcome
* The ability to think outside the box, be creative, focused on solutions and collaborative
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Sound time and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple cases within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
* A professional and polished approach, and the ability to deal with people in a variety of situations and at all levels
* The ability to work with compassion and empathy as well as resilience.
