Clough, as part of a joint venture, is delivering the Project Ceres urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities.
The Structural/Mechanical/Piping QC Inspector is responsible to validate by inspection and document review that the SMP installation during Construction of the Perdaman Urea Plant complies with relevant Project Specifications, industry Standards and applicable Inspection & Test Plans.
This is a FIFO position based in Karratha on a 20/8 roster, flying from Perth or other capital cities. However, individuals living local to the region are encouraged to apply.
Main responsibilities for this role include:
Works cooperatively with Construction, Subcontractors, and Client QA Representatives in a team environment with transparent sharing of information to the benefit of the project.
Performs daily Structural, Piping and Mechanical inspections in line with Project Inspection & Test Plan and Specifications.
Verify that material and equipment are correctly received, stored, preserved, calibrated, handled, identified and traceable.
Perform Structural Steel inspections in accordance with AS/NZS 5131 & AS/NZS 1554.
Perform Piping inspections including dimensional checks, cleanliness, and alignment. Perform weld inspection of completed welds in accordance with industry code ASME B31.3.
Check the availability and adequacy of consumables and equipment/instrumentation used for welding execution and control.
Complete Daily Welding Reports, and weld maps.
Verify NDT activities are performed in accordance with the NDE procedures and project requirements.
Participate in Test Pack Walk Downs and raise punchlist of incomplete works.
Witness Hydrotest, Flushing and Drying activities.
Perform Static equipment inspections (vessels, tanks, towers, heat exchangers).
Perform Grout inspections (epoxy and cementitious).
Perform Vessel internal inspections.
Signing off Inspection Test Records and Inspection Test Plan.
Monitor equipment preservation is performed in accordance with project and manufacturers' requirements.
Provide input into the weekly quality reports to the Site Quality Manager.
Reports any discrepancies or concerns immediately upon discovery to the Site Quality Manager.
Provides quality-related guidance to all stakeholders.
Conducts in-process audits to determine adequacy and effectiveness of quality control activities being performed throughout the project to meet the requirements of the approved Quality, Inspection and Test Plans.
Essential requirements include:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quality Control Inspector.
Experience in a similar role within oilfield related plant/facility construction.
CSWIP, AWS or WTIA certification.
Relevant trade certificate.
Internal Auditing/Lead Auditing.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office software (Access, Excel, Outlook, Word).
Detailed knowledge of Quality practices and procedures and current legislative requirements.
