About the role
We are seeking ambitious Network Security Administrators to provide a crucial role in the administration of several Gateway environments. This 24x7 shift is responsible for the up keeping of the security perimeter defence of the networks in which these Gateway environments connect, and your role will be to maintain gateway functionality by proactive monitoring, service and incident response.
This is an excellent opportunity for current Service Desk/Incident management candidates who are looking for their next step in their careers toward Network Security and Cyber. You must hold NV1 or NV2 AGSVA security clearance and be willing to work a 24x7 shift roster with an amazing team.
About you
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Perform root cause analysis and triage network/computer issues for clients, servers, and network equipment.
2. Work with both Windows and Linux/UNIX environments.
3. Maintain the configuration, documentation, and procedures of the Gateway environments. Proactively maintain effective working relationships with peer group and key internal stakeholders and manage key external stakeholders relevant to the achievement of business objectives, where relevant.
4. Plan own workload to achieve deliverables in required timeframes.
5. Contribute to the effectiveness of the work team through positive and productive personal behaviours.
6. Provide advice and demonstrate initiative in an area of functional expertise, where appropriate.
7. Display a high standard of personal and professional integrity in all business dealings and develop own capability for current and future roles.
Requirements:
8. NV1 or NV2 security clearance is essential
9. Proven ability and knowledge of working in an IT environment
10. Experience and knowledge using diverse operating systems
11. Strong written and oral communication skills
12. Ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on network/computer issues on clients, servers, and network equipment
13. Understanding of commands and concepts along with the ability to setup, configure, and maintain servers, desirable.
14. Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge in communication/networking, and programming using scripting languages, desirable.
15. Experience in a gateway environment including mail and web applications, desirable.
16. Willing to work a 24x7 shift roster
