Leading government organisation seeking IT Business for contractYour new company Based in the tropical QLD city of Townsville which boasts 300 days of sunshine per year, a leading government organisation (and the largest of its kind in Northern Australia) are seeking an IT Business Analyst to work on a variety of infrastructure and software projects that underpin the running of this organisation! Your new role Your new role will see you work within the small but dedicated multi-disciplinary Technology Project Management Team lead by the Program Delivery Manager whose aim is to work on the upgrade, enhancement and rollout of key technical solutions throughout the organisation and the Townsville region! Within this team you will be part of several key strategic technical projects to be rolled out over the course of several months and years to be used by thousands throughout North Queensland. These technical projects cover multiple domains such as the infrastructure (fibre optic rollouts, Cisco hardware refreshes, etc) and software (application integrations, system implementations, etc) spaces to name a few. The projects under the management of this team vary in size and scope from a few thousand dollars to several million and are a combination of newly created and existing initiatives. Your role in this team will see you write use cases, capture processes, gather functional and non-functional requirements, create workflows, define technical specifications, identify critical touchpoints and analyse key data amongst other duties. Not limited to be working just within your own team, you will be conducting these tasks with other stakeholders across the organisation (who are to be positively impacted by these projects). Under new management, this governments IT/Technology division direction is changing with their focus shifting to customer experience which will see greater interaction between IT and the wider business which will see this role having a major impact. What you'll need to succeed You will need experience/knowledge across (in no particular order) the following: Gather and translate technical and non-technical requirements Work with individuals across all levels of an organisation The creation of use cases, workflows and technical specifications amongst other documentation An understanding of a wide variety of IT infrastructure, networking, systems and software eco systems (due to the projects coming up an 'all-round' knowledge of IT is applicable) Supplier/vendor/MSP management and liaison Clear and perfect communication skills (both spoken and written) Full Australian working rights Currently residing in Australia (those outside will not be considered) What you'll get in return You will be offered an initial contract position up until 27th June 2025 (with chances for extension) paying $62.32 + super per hour with a leading government organisation in Townsville.
