The Western Australian Meat Marketing Co-operative, Katanning Processing Plant is seeking the services of a suitably qualified person to fill the role of Quality Assurance Manager. The Katanning Processing Plant is situated 300 kilometres south east of Perth in the Great Southern Region, and is Western Australia's largest lamb processor and exporter.Job tasks and responsibilities Develop and manage the quality team.Participate as a member of and advise the Plant Management Team on relevant issues, including compliance with all relevant legislation, specifically food safety and product quality.Maintain accurate and relevant systems documentation.Co-ordinate internal and external quality related auditing.Develop and deliver relevant information and training to staff and operatives.Liaise with, develop and maintain appropriate relationships with DAFF, AUS-MEAT, external authorities and clients.Manage preparation for, and participate in, audits and reviews by external authorities.Participate in management review meetings, organise and where relevant, chair meetings.Act according to company policy and procedure.Ensure employees are aware of their responsibilities of a duty of care to themselves and fellow employees, and take all possible steps to prevent accidents and minimize hazards to occupational health.Be proactive in developing employee's skills and abilities.Such other duties as directed by the Plant Manager.Skills and experience Mandatory: HACCP AccreditationAus-Meat Accreditation in all relevant speciesPractical experience in Quality ManagementAble to work unsupervisedThorough understanding of operational procedures within export meat establishmentInternal Auditing AccreditationExcellent communication and negotiating skills, both verbal and writtenLeadership and Team building skillsPreferred: Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g.meat management, food technology) or satisfactory progression towards same.Sound working knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislationIndustry Certification in microbiological techniques and standards #J-18808-Ljbffr
