About the role
: As a Social Worker within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, you will provide a high quality clinical and case management service to children, young people and their families/caregivers. The role of the Social Worker in this setting includes:
1. Work within a multi-disciplinary team model to provide specialist person centred clinical intervention to children/young people and their families/carers, to ensure delivery of innovative and developmentally appropriate clinical practice and therapeutic interventions.
2. Participate in the delivery of trauma informed care and its application in working with children/young people with mental health concerns and their families /carers.
3. Exercise independent professional judgement.
4. Ensure the care delivered sits within professional, organisational, legal and ethical boundaries and reflects evidence based, best practice knowledge and embraces a collaborative, client centred, family and culturally sensitive approach.
5. Identify and act on opportunities for improvement in clinical practice and participate in initiatives to enhance service delivery and consumer outcomes.
You will be supported in this position by CAMHS Senior Social Worker and the team’s Clinical Leader. You will also be provided with clinical supervision and ongoing training and education opportunities to support your professional development.
About you:
6. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, capable and will have a passion for supporting children, young people, their families and carers with their mental health.
7. An understanding of principles of trauma informed care and its application to therapeutic interventions and experience working with complex families is desirable.
Requirements:
8. Bachelor in Social Work or equivalent with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
