Job Overview:As the Assistant Director of Social Media, you will be at the forefront of driving the Commission's digital communications strategy, with a focus on social media. Leading a dynamic, creative team, you will spearhead the development, execution, and evaluation of impactful social media campaigns that align with the organisation’s strategic priorities. You will play a key role in producing compelling, accurate content, ensuring it resonates with stakeholders while adhering to regulatory and policy frameworks.Key Accountabilities:Strategic Development and Execution of Communications Program:Contribute to shaping the Commission’s communications program, amplifying outreach, engagement, and visibility.Collaborate with senior leadership to align social media strategies with the Commission’s broader organizational objectives.Lead Digital and Social Media Strategy Development:Develop, execute, and refine digital and social media strategies that support the Commission’s goals, ensuring the integration of innovative, best-practice approaches.Leverage cutting-edge solutions to effectively engage target audiences and boost impact.Content Creation and Oversight:Oversee the creation of high-quality digital and social media content that is aligned with organizational priorities and resonates with diverse stakeholders.Ensure content is consistently accurate, up-to-date, and optimized across platforms, meeting stakeholder needs.Team Leadership and Development:Lead and mentor a team of communications professionals, providing strategic guidance and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.Set clear performance goals and support staff development to ensure the delivery of high-impact projects.Research and Reporting:Conduct research on social media trends and audience preferences to continuously improve content strategies.Provide detailed performance reports and actionable insights, assessing the success of campaigns and strategies.Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:Work closely with internal teams and subject matter experts to ensure content remains relevant and consistent with organizational messaging.Effectively negotiate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.Compliance with Legislation and Policies:Ensure all social media content and campaigns adhere to relevant legislative, policy, and regulatory standards.Stay ahead of changes in laws and policies, ensuring the team’s activities remain compliant.General Responsibilities:Participate in mandatory training programs and work within standard business hours, with occasional extended hours as needed.Take on additional duties as required by the entity.Essential Requirements:Experience:Proven expertise in delivering strategic, operational, and technical guidance for social media campaigns.Experience leading a team and successfully overseeing communications projects.Technical Proficiency:Deep understanding of digital communication tools and social media platforms, with a track record of applying best practices for engagement and content distribution.Strong ability to create clear, compelling, and accessible content for social media audiences.Communication Skills:Exceptional attention to detail, with excellent proofreading and copy-editing abilities.Ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.Leadership and Collaboration:Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders at all levels.A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset in addressing complex challenges.Desirable Attributes:Australian citizenship required.Baseline Security Clearance (desirable).Experience in the public sector or federal government is a plus.Strong project management skills with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.In-depth knowledge of legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks related to communications and social media.At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all.
