The Subiaco Hotel seeks Cooks and Chefs to join our kitchen team.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensure the consistency of all menu items across different periods of service
* Contribute to the smooth operation of food production in the kitchen department, following direction from the Head Chef
* Liaise with the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food to guests
* Operate kitchen equipment to achieve desired results for ala carte and function service
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to advance and improve current food operations
* Assist with stock control to minimize wastage
Venue Security & Compliance
* Understand venue access and security procedures for food stock
* Maintain alarm codes, venue keys, and other access requests
Safety
* Comply with food safety policies and procedures (HACCP)
* Participate in regular safety meetings with department heads to discuss risks and hazards
* FOLLOW kitchen systems, policies, and procedures on shift
Personal Presentation
* Maintain a professional appearance according to the venue's dress standards
* Respond to additional tasks that contribute to the overall success of the venue's operations
* Deliver exceptional service standards during peak periods
* Maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations
Performance Review
* Regular performance reviews will be conducted as part of your commitment to the position
Qualifications & Requirements
* At least 2 years of experience in a relevant role is required
* Additonal experience may be considered if relevant formal qualifications are not held
* A positive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills are essential
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-volume environment
* Attention to detail and focus on consistency
* Open and honest communication is expected in all dealings
Salary
The annual salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience
