Job Title: Director Procurement and Contracts
1. Rate: $81-$91 per hour + super
2. Duration: 12 month contract
3. Location: Gungahlin + WFH (Canberra-based only)
About the Role:
The Assistant Director Procurement and Contract Management role operates within a major transformation program focused on establishing whole of government ICT capability to enable the ACT Government. The Program relies on a multi-partner approach including program assurance, design and implementation partners and digital platform providers.
The Assistant Director Procurement and Contract Management is responsible for providing commercial advice, contributing to the strategic sourcing activities as well as providing contract management services.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Contribute to procurement planning, tendering and contract formation and contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures and deliver recommendations that achieve budget outcomes and value for money.
5. Ensure procurement, risk and contract management planning and record keeping functions are developed throughout the procurement lifecycle and maintained for the term of contracts.
6. Work closely with a team of specialists in areas related to delivering services, software, and infrastructure to assist with delivering the outcomes of major programs for the Territory.
7. Provide risk and issues management advice, deliver status updates in relation to program contracts.
8. Support the identification, management and resolution of commercial risks and issues and contract change management, ensuring timely responses to requests received.
Key Skills:
9. Demonstrated high-level experience to work effectively within procurement and contract management guidelines, procedures, and frameworks in a complex operational environment.
10. Sound understanding (or capability to gain the understanding) of ACT Government procurement and contract requirements.
11. Experience working with ICT procurements and agreements and understanding of government procurement methodologies and required documentation.
12. Ability to identify strategic and innovative solutions including an awareness of medium to long-term ICT procurement and contracting opportunities.
