FUNLHN Information Page.pdf Site and Services: Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising of 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit.
The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients.
Whyalla Hospital's Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia.
It includes six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care and counselling services, reducing the need to travel outside of the region for care.
It is also, one of three stroke services in regional SA, providing specialised treatment for suitable stroke patients 24/7, supported by metropolitan stroke units.
Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community.

You'll play a key role in ensuring continuity of care, leading your team to provide exceptional patient outcomes, and supporting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in day-to-day management duties.
Your role will also include providing guidance to less experienced staff, promoting a culture of learning and development.
You will contribute to the overall performance and smooth running of the ward/unit, supporting tasks such as recruitment, rostering, performance management, and planning.

– Midwifery About you: Current registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
At least 3 years of post-registration experience, or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
Strong clinical skills and the ability to provide high-quality, evidence-based care.
Experience supervising and mentoring less experienced staff, contributing to their growth.
A commitment to providing outstanding patient care and leadership within your team.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
