The opportunity
The Head of Sourcing & Technical Compliance is a senior leadership position responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle from purchase order to delivery, ensuring that final products meet regulatory standards and quality expectations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in apparel costing, production management, and regulatory compliance, focused on driving operational excellence, cost-efficiency, and innovation while adhering to timelines and compliance standards.
To achieve this, you:
* Lead a multidisciplinary team across sourcing, production, and quality assurance to translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans while fostering a collaborative culture between our Melbourne and China teams.
* Manage supplier partnerships to build a robust factory base for efficient sourcing of high-quality materials while ensuring compliance with standards, and promote cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and best practices.
* Analyze apparel sector trends to identify suppliers, facilitate design-to-cost processes for effective commercialization, and develop fabric sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality materials.
* Analyze production metrics to identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives by adopting new technologies and methodologies.
* Ensure quality assurance protocols are in place and manage inspection and audit processes at manufacturing facilities.
* Collaborate with the Technical Manager to align production processes with engineering specifications while driving innovation to enhance manufacturing capabilities and operational efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements while representing the company in discussions with retailers and industry stakeholders about customer needs.
* Develop and implement a sustainability strategy aligned with corporate objectives and industry standards, while establishing KPIs to measure sustainability performance in apparel and footwear development.
* Conduct thorough analyses of existing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement initiatives that streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
