More about the role:
In this role as an NDIS Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to provide support for a diverse client base with varying needs providing care for participants on an NDIS funded plan in their home. (The role is primarily mobile an you can plan your week around home visits, report writing, team catch ups)
Your main responsibilities will include providing high-quality, evidence-based assessments of capacity and function, not only in their home but also in the community.
You will be exposed to neurological, musculoskeletal and degenerative conditions that are chronic in nature and will require a holistic approach.
You will be required to identify equipment intervention solutions and provide personalised prescription outcomes for the participant’s ADL and PADL needs.
You may also be required to liaise with external providers to supply & prescribe more complex and personalised assistive technologies.
Home modification prescription will also be a significant part of the role.
You will also work closely with family members, support coordinators, personal care workers, and occasionally LAC / NDIA Representative.
Skills:
Benchmark report writing is essential along with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
As a registered NDIS Occupational Therapist you will have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience which ideally includes experience with CHSP, HCP with Adults but not essential.
A good understanding of the NDIS system and processes will be essential.
Strong clinical skills in delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
Excellent communication skills for building rapport with clients as well as collaborating within a multidisciplinary team setting.
Ability to assess a client's condition accurately using appropriate tools/techniques.
Knowledge of assistive aids/equipment prescribing process.
Qualifications:
Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy
AHPRA registration
Minimum of 2 years' experience
Previous NDIS experience (required)
NDIS Workers screening check
Current Police Check
Current drivers licence
Current Covid Vaccinations
