Admin Assistant (legal) role in Bairnsdale. Work with a great team supporting the local community! The Admin Assistant (legal) provides administrative support and reception duties (where required) to a team of lawyers and administrative staff within an office. Responsibilities include updating the corporate case management system, scheduling appointments, and liaising with clients and community groups. Key Responsibilities Perform legal administrative tasks such as audio typing, data entry, file management, and client coordination. Receive client inquiries in-office or at court and refer them to specialists as needed. Provide information and referrals to clients and legal practitioners about services. Update and maintain the case management system, ensuring compliance with policies and standards. Manage client appointments, including video conferencing and telephone bookings. Assist in improving work practices and the day-to-day management of the office, including training new staff. Perform financial administration tasks such as processing invoices and handling cash. Key Selection Criteria Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to provide client-focused services in a sensitive environment. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, particularly with disadvantaged groups. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and word processing tools. Team-oriented with a collaborative approach. Qualifications and Experience Experience in administrative and/or reception support (ideally in a legal environment). Knowledge of legal procedures and systems is highly desirable.
