The College encourages the pursuit of excellence by all members of our learning community. A comprehensive, curriculum is offered to all students based on the Victorian F-10 Framework. Role The Athlete Development Program (ADP) is a select entry, specialised sports development and education program aimed to assist students in pursuit of sporting excellence. The program combines general physical preparation (strength & conditioning) technical squad training and athlete development curriculum. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Human Movement or Sports Science) Minimum Level 2 ASCA (or equivalent) Accreditation Necessary experience working with youth athletes, or demonstrate competencies and understanding Working with children Check Position Overview To develop and manage delivery of an Athletic Development Curriculum based on best-practice processes and the following: Teaching lift progressions Running skill acquisition progression Oversee training methodologies within the ADP including, but not limited to: flexibility, muscular strength, coordination, balance and stability Oversee and design all programs and athletic development sessions Personalisation of training and development (developmentally appropriate) Collaboration with coaches of individual athletes in recognised pathways and programs to optimise development and build relationships Development of training facilities and equipment Managment of exercise prescription software Incorporation of best practice youth athletic development practices Supervising class size groups of students Responsibilities The Athletic Development Coordinator will assist with the coaching of VCP programs as rostered and;Run a High-Performance meeting monthly for ADP Athlete managers and support staff, incorporating, individual athlete development and welfare, including those needing acceleration or added assistance, VCP programs and improvement, skill acquisition and lifting technique professional development opportunities.Build, save and distribute all VCP programs and make all required and requested modificationsConsult with ADP Squad coaches and ADP Athlete Managers on all programs Employ evidence-based practice and support in the incorporation of sports science and sports medicine services into programsPrograms to be developed in accordance with resistance program guidelines and supplied for;ADP and Associate Classes - Holidays - holiday programs to be supplies at the end of each termIndividuals requiring rehab refer to: Health Report Forms (HRF), Policy for Managing ADP requirements and Return to Sports Guidelines for modifying VCP programsIndividuals requiring modification, added assistance or accreditationVCP programs are to be modified according to HRF on the day they are submittedManage the delivery of required fitness testing and video analysis for ADP, Associate, Squads, Alumni (opt for athletes), Selection Trials and manage the collection and reporting of all results.
