ECC Veterinary Nurse Role
We are excited to be opening our brand new Greencross Vet Centre in Norwood.
As an experienced and passionate Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Veterinary Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional emergency and critical care services to Adelaide pet owners and their pets.
You will be part of a comprehensive network of veterinarians across Australia, linked through the Animal Referral and Emergency Network (AREN) and Greencross Vets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill and injured patients under the supervision of skilled veterinarians.
* Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatment, making necessary adjustments as required.
* Assist with emergency procedures, surgeries, and diagnostics.
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
* Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with the veterinary team and pet owners.
* Participate in continuous learning and development to enhance skills and knowledge in ECC nursing.
Our ideal candidate will have:
* A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in emergency and critical care.
* Strong technical nursing skills, including proficiency in IV catheter placement, blood sampling, and anesthesia monitoring.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
* A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to animals and their owners.
* Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating roster.
