Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Buderim QLDKey ResponsibilitiesUndertake statutory land-use and transport planning tasks for development assessment and compliance.Provide high-level strategic and regional planning advice in relation to the assessment of development impacts on the transport network in accordance with the Development Assessment Rules and other statutory processes including major land use planning activities.Provide high-level advice on the Economic Development Act 2012, Planning Act 2016, the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994 and other statutory instruments applicable to the department in respect to land use and regional planning matters.Review proposed legislation, planning concepts, planning schemes and other statutory and regional plans and documents and provide advice on the implications of such initiatives on existing and future transport networks.Develop and maintain appropriate and effective liaison and communication with internal staff, state and local government agencies, the community and other stakeholders.Mandatory Qualifications and ConditionsDue to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.Possession of tertiary qualifications in Town Planning from a recognised tertiary institution which is acceptable for full membership with the Planning Institute of Australia.Requirements of the RoleTown Planning - Demonstrates high level of knowledge and practice regarding development assessment and Planning Policy in accordance with Town Planning legislation, processes and policies.Builds enduring relationships - Communicates in a clear, succinct and deliberate manner, adjusting the message so that it resonates with different stakeholders.Supports others by providing timely information within own area of expertise in an articulate and non-technical manner.Leads strategically - Recognises how organisational events and issues impact on the work of the team, prioritises projects and tasks efficiently, in line with team commitments.Makes insightful decisions - Makes considered, ethical and courageous decisions based on insight into the broader context.
