Rural Clinical School: Academic Leader
About This Opportunity
We are seeking an academic leader to oversee the implementation and delivery of the MD Program and Central Queensland Regional Training Hub activities as part of the Central Queensland – Wide Bay Regional Medical Pathway (CQWB RMP).
The University of Queensland is a key partner in the CQWB RMP, collaborating with Central Queensland University, Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, and the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching: Contribute to face-to-face clinical teaching, relevant to clinical expertise, to support the development of professional identity, as well as clinical knowledge and skills.
* Contribute to quality assurance and improvement activities.
* Contribute to the development and provision of supervisor training and support for both hospital and community based clinical supervisors.
Research/Teaching Impact
* Maintain personal academic standing including the pursuit of research and scholarship.
* Contribute to building of the Medical Pathway's research capacity by enabling and engaging in collaborative research projects between UQ academics, health service clinicians and other partners.
Supervision and Researcher Development
* Foster others in the responsible conduct of research.
Citizenship and Service
* Provide the academic leadership and oversight of the implementation and the ongoing provision of the End-to-end CQWB Regional Medical Pathway from student recruitment to fellowship training.
* Facilitate close working relationships with CQHHS to support and grow prevocational and/or vocational training pathways within their hospitals.
* Promote and foster interest in rural medical careers for medical students and junior doctors.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
* Medical qualification and a non-GP Specialist or General Practice Specialist qualification, with eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia, with AHPRA.
* Masters or PhD, or equivalent experience, preferably in medical education or medical leadership.
* Expert knowledge and experience in a general or specialist clinical capacity, including evidence of knowledge of current education best practice.
