About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Engineer based at their plasterboard manufacturing facility in Pinkenba, QLD. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your primary duties will be involved in supporting and maintaining the daily manufacturing processes of the facility. The ideal applicant will have had at least three years of leadership experience in the Engineering operations function and demonstrated capability in building effective partnerships with others and developing effective teams.
Role Responsibilities:
1. The management and implementation of all electrical projects.
2. Leadership in electrical and automation engineering systems across the site and main support to site for troubleshooting and timely breakdown rectification using RCA & continuous improvement methodologies.
3. Prioritizing and leading a safety-first culture & ensuring Knauf’s values are being followed within the maintenance team, contractors & across the site.
4. Compliance with site HSE regulations and the Responsibilities and Accountabilities Matrix for all trades and contractors.
5. Develop and maintain a high level of housekeeping using 5S principles.
6. Ensuring that the electrical preventative maintenance program is being completed.
7. Maintain the electrical critical spare parts register.
8. Managing electrical risks on the site by ensuring that all electrical systems and installations adhere to the relevant regulations and standards.
9. Set up and management of PLC and Data System.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Electrical / Control and instrumentation engineer’s degree (desired) or qualified electricians with relevant experience.
2. RPEQ Registration highly regarded.
3. A broad understanding and experience of an industrial manufacturing environment.
4. Expert knowledge of Automation systems (Allen Bradley PLC, Rockwell, SCADA).
5. High level process improvement skills with analytical ability and strategic problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, process improvements & corrective actions).
6. Strong project management skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams, capital, continuous improvement teams and strategic problem solving.
7. Experience in Asset Management techniques, systems and processes relative to automation.
8. Ability to motivate and inspire people at all levels to build a high-achieving team.
9. Able to easily work with other site partners to influence outcomes.
