For more than 170 years, Monash Health and its predecessors have provided safe, high-quality healthcare and service for people at every life stage.About the Role The Associate Nurse Manager position is a clinical leadership role responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager with the day-to-day operations, clinical outcomes and management of unit staff.As a clinical role, you will draw on your knowledge and experience in drug and alcohol, general and/or mental health to manage the withdrawal or stabilisation of alcohol and/or other drugs. The focus of this role is supporting clients within a bio-psycho-social framework throughout the withdrawal process and introducing them to options and skills to facilitate change. The ANM will play a key role as part of the multidisciplinary team in delivering a high standard of direct client care with a focus on withdrawal management, recovery and harm reduction strategies, as required. Utilising a variety of recovery-focused interventions, you will develop, implement and evaluate treatment plans based on your assessment of needs.This position requires an individual with skills which will enable them to liaise closely with a number of inpatient and community agencies, clinical and community teams, and external agencies like Victoria Police, Ambulance services, or Primary Care services to ensure best practice care is provided. This will ensure comprehensive assessment, collaborative treatment design, and appropriate referral of consumers presenting to the team.Specifically, the role will include: Management on a shift-by-shift basis both clinically and operationallyCo-ordinating staff on shift to provide efficient and effective careLiaising and escalating issues with a broad range of internal and external stakeholdersManaging withdrawal assessments and providing appropriate managementEnsuring the psychoeducation group program is runSupporting the Nurse Manager to achieve organizational goals, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and promoting and cultivating a positive unit culture.Working as an Acting Nurse Manager as the need arises.This role will work a full rotating roster including weekends and night shifts. The Community Residential Withdrawal Unit (CRWU) is affiliated with a hospital-based addiction medicine service and is under the clinical governance of the Monash Health Drug & Alcohol Services Unit Head.
