We have a great position for a Construction Manager to help shape this growth by using their knowledge and proactive attitude to lead and deliver projects, develop, review and implement processes & procedures while promoting a strong safety focus.
This position will work across industries such as mining, construction, oil and gas, and renewables. To succeed in this role, you will have the ability to:
Strong safety focus and have a proven ability to implement safety strategies throughout the concept and delivery phases of the project
Have proven ability to successfully communicate with clients to ensure that their desired outcome for the project is delivered
Previous experience in working with clients to compile a project scope of works to then translate into project estimates and budgets
Organise and coordinate construction activities in accordance with construction schedules to complete the works on time whilst constantly monitoring the status of planning, safety, environmental and quality activities.
Ensure all activities relating to quality are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes, and standards, which form part of the contract.
Maintain good client relationships and lead a multi-disciplinary team to meet defined project targets.
Attend project, pre-construction, and tender meetings to review and plan for project success.
Ability to assist with compiling and submitting formal tender proposals to stringent quality standards and to strict deadlines
Experience in managing project claims and variations along with trade forecasting;
Continuously monitor project performance, including financial forecasting, budgets, revenue, and gross profit margins.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
Engage with local community and industry events to foster positive relationships and expand networks.
About You
At least 5 years’ experience within construction projects
Relevant Trade qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders including clients, suppliers and operational staff.
High level business and commercial acumen.
Strong negotiation and risk management skills.
Proven track record of effectively managing budgets and ensuring cost control.
Ability to travel domestically, ensuring presence at the construction site when needed.
Have a high attention to detail, excellent time management and organisation skills;
Outstanding leadership, communication and planning abilities with a passion for working in a face paced environment
