About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Lawyer to join our Financial Crime & Regulatory Supervision legal team. You will provide strategic legal advice on ANZ’s compliance with financial crime obligations, including anti-money laundering. You will also advise on regulatory changes and strategic regulatory interactions. Take a stakeholder- and solution-focused approach to proactively manage legal risks. Advise on a variety of matters, including high-impact projects and strategic regulatory engagements. Engage and manage external counsel where appropriate. Collaborate with teams across ANZ, including key stakeholders at all levels of seniority, and manage matters independently. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: At least 6 years post-qualification experience in commercial law, preferably with a background in commercial disputes or financial services regulation. Experience advising on financial crime laws, particularly Australia’s anti-money laundering regime, is highly regarded but not essential. A proactive approach and willingness to develop expertise in new areas of the law. Ability to provide strategically considered legal advice and identify commercial solutions to legal risks. Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of excellent stakeholder management. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Common sense, curiosity and a love of learning.
