About the role:
As a Security Officer at Downer, you will ensure the safety and security of staff, patients, and visitors at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Your responsibilities will include monitoring premises, responding to incidents, and maintaining a secure environment tailored to client needs. With your proactive approach and strong communication skills, you’ll contribute to a positive atmosphere. This is a Full-Time opportunity - you must be available to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including AM, PM and night shifts to support a 24/7 operation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors through active monitoring and patrols.
2. Address and resolve security concerns raised by end-users within 24 hours.
3. Attend Code Blacks and respond to security incidents promptly (within five minutes).
4. Conduct regular guard tours, reporting maintenance issues and issuing infringement notices as necessary.
5. Complete mandatory training within one month of employment and adhere to health and safety policies.
6. Write incident reports promptly after each event or by the end of your shift.
7. Liaise with internal teams and external partners, including healthcare representatives and emergency services.

Requirements:
1. Certificate II in Security (mandatory).
2. Current SA Security License (mandatory).
3. Current First Aid certificate with CPR (mandatory).
4. Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) (mandatory).
5. Proven experience in security, preferably in a healthcare environment.
6. Intermediate to advanced computer skills and incident report writing capabilities.
