HAYS Construction NQ is seeking a talented Asset Inspector to join our team on a short-term contract!Your new company Our client is a leading provider of essential asset consulting services across Australia, with a notable and exciting project based in Cairns. They are currently seeking a self-motivated and dedicated Asset Inspector/Condition Assessor to join their Far North Queensland (FNQ) Project on a short-term contract basis. Your new role As part of the new asset management team in FNQ, you will be responsible for assessing and reporting on the scope of maintenance works required across a key asset in the Cairns region. Your role will involve: Conducting detailed inspections and assessments of building conditions, including structural, electrical, and mechanical systems. Providing effective and practical advice on relevant legislation, industry standards, and codes of practice to influence decisions and strategic planning initiatives. Documenting and reporting findings, recommending maintenance and repair actions, and ensuring all work complies with requirements and relevant legislation. Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of inspection and assessment activities. This temporary opportunity offers a Monday to Friday schedule, up to 40 hours per week. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: Strong computer skills for data entry, report generation, and communication. Extensive trade background, certified builder or engineering with hands-on experience in commercial asset maintenance and building knowledge. A good understanding of Australian standards and dedication to Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S). A strong work ethic and self-motivation to work autonomously when required. Trade Qualification or Builders Licence in a relevant field. Construction Induction White Card A current driver's licence and vehicle Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans. A keen eye for detail, organisational skills and a methodical approach to inspections.
