TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence
To tackle skill shortages in priority areas, TAFE NSW is launching the TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (CoE), which is a joint initiative between the Australian Government and NSW Government under the National Skills Agreement. The TAFE NSW Manufacturing CoE is an agile approach to skills acquisition, connecting industry and education partners to foster innovative training pathways and enhance core manufacturing skills.
About the role
TAFE NSW is seeking a Learning Designer - Microskills to join our Manufacturing Centres of Excellence team. Reporting to the Manager of Education, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of digital short course (Microskill) curriculum, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards responsive to industry needs.
In this role, you will manage the daily operations of these digital short course projects, aligning them with the strategic goals of the Manufacturing Centres of Excellence. You will identify suitable resources and engage them to enable effective planning, monitor progress, manage timelines, and ensure the curriculum is of the highest quality and adaptable to feedback.
Your responsibilities will include managing digital short course projects that involve external partners, instructional designers, learning technology specialists, digital content creators, subject matter experts, and support teams to develop and refine innovative digital curriculum content. Regular updates and reports on project status, challenges, and milestones to the Manager of Education are essential, as is the ability to problem-solve and keep the project teams on task. Additionally, you will implement and maintain project management processes and tools to ensure efficient workflow and communication, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks that may impact project delivery.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel as required to other TAFE NSW Campus locations at Western Sydney, Hunter and Illawarra Regions.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Degree qualification in a related field or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
A high level of digital literacy and educational understanding for application to as a learning designer.
Experience leading new program design and implementation projects involving significant innovation and change to established processes to meet commercially driven deadlines and objectives.
Extensive experience in digital education project management.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality standards are essential.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills will enable you to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of educational programs.
