The Motor Mechanic is entrusted with the vital role of ensuring that vehicles are operating at their best. This involves diagnosing mechanical issues, executing repairs, and performing regular maintenance. The mechanic will engage with customers to understand their vehicle concerns, provide expert recommendations, and ensure that all vehicles meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, and other routine services to ensure vehicles comply with emission standards and operate smoothly.
* Diagnose Vehicle Faults: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in engines and vehicle components using diagnostic tools and expert knowledge.
* Disassemble and Inspect Components: Remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other parts to inspect for damage, wear, or defects.
* Repair or Replace Parts: Fix or replace worn or faulty parts, ensuring that all repairs are performed according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
* Reassemble and Test: Reassemble engines and components after repairs, then test the vehicle to ensure all mechanical parts function optimally.
* Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, issue roadworthiness certificates, or provide detailed reports on required repairs for compliance.
* Assist in Vehicle Breakdowns: Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns, providing on-site assistance and repairs as needed.
* Consult Service Manuals: Use technical manuals and guidelines to perform repairs and ensure that all work adheres to the latest industry standards.
Qualifications:
* Education: Certificate III, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV.
* Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant full-time experience in the automotive repair industry.
