You will belong to the Mental Health, Family Violence and Community Directorate, working as part of the Refugee Health team to provide support to vulnerable new arrivals settled in Melbourne's Northern suburbs.

A Little About the Role
This position contributes to the success of DPV Health by operating as a Social Worker within the Refugee and Asylum Seeker Health Team.
This position is responsible for providing Social Work expertise to support settlement of the Refugee and Asylum Seeker clients referred to DPV Health.
Key Deliverables
* Provide a high level of culturally informed client assessment, brief counselling, advocacy, case coordination and referral to appropriate services to ensure complex and vulnerable clients are empowered and able to achieve positive settlement outcomes.
Requirements
To Be Considered for This Rewarding Role You Will Have:
* Well-developed clinical skills and demonstrated ability to support a coordinated approach by working with a range of stakeholders to improve health outcomes for refugees and people seeking asylum as agreed with client.
* Experience in delivering cross-culturally trauma-informed assessments to identify complex and current mental health needs and manage risk identified.
* Experience in providing therapeutic support, self-determination, advocacy, referral and health education.
* Experience in provision of a coordinated service through effective communication, and access to interpreters and navigating cultural barriers.
* Demonstrated capacity to use supervision, professional development and other supports to inform, sustain and develop practice.
Position Requirements
* Hold a tertiary qualification as a Social Worker and a minimum of two years' experience.
* Current tertiary qualification as a Social Worker and can fulfil the requirements of the AASW including maintaining their code of ethics.

* Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid WWCC, hold an NDIS Clearance Check and possess up to date COVID vaccination status.
* Full driver's license and travel between sites is required.
