Suitable applicants will ideally display effective interpersonal skills and the fostering of positive relationships with students, staff, and the wider community. As a teacher at HHC, you should be highly effective in engaging and motivating students through the creation of effective safe learning environments and possess the ability to effectively implement the College’s PBS (Positive Behaviour Schools) Behaviour Matrix and behaviour management flowchart.
Suitable applicants will support the English Learning Area team to strategically meet the learning needs of all our students studying the English curriculum, including students with disabilities and special needs. They will ideally utilise evidence-based teaching practices to plan and implement differentiated activities that are purposeful and relevant for student support and extension.
Suitable applicants will also work closely with our Student Services Team and/or external agencies ensuring all students experience success. A range of assessment and reporting methods which provide a variety of opportunities for our students to learn and display their knowledge should also be employed.
Experience and a passion for teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English to Years 11 and 12 would be highly sought after. HHC offers an extensive ATAR selection of courses across Learning Areas and is therefore seeking further expertise in ATAR English to complement their team of educators. Teachers with academic extension experience who ensure appropriate rigour, relevance and engagement is scaffolded throughout the courses is highly desirable.
