Fibre/Telecommunication Engineering might be your calling due to an increasing demand in the market. Our client requires Trainee Fibre/Telecommunication Engineers to fill a shortage of skilled personnel in the UK.
About the Role
* You will undergo an intense 8-week training programme where you will gain accreditation and qualification in Telecommunications to BTEC standards.
* No prior experience is required as full training will be provided to successful candidates.
* This course is government-funded and free of charge.
The training schedule takes place from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm for 8 weeks at your local training centre.
Key Responsibilities
* Installing Telephone and Internet lines on the BT Phone Network, including installations at phone exchanges and customer premises.
* Fault Finding, Testing, and Fixing Telephone lines.
* Setting up Networks ranging from Internet Routers in Houses to Business premises.
* Installing CAT5 and CAT6 systems, leading to other applications such as CCTV, Door Access Systems & Audio/Visual installations.
* Fibre splicing and installations.
What is a Telecommunications Engineer?
Fibre/Telecommunications Engineers install, test, and repair communications systems, including fixed-line and mobile telephone networks, copper wire and fibre-optic cabling, and digital satellite systems.
Responsibilities may include:
* Installing, connecting, and testing cabling.
* Diagnosing and fixing faults in systems.
* Working with aerial rigging and related equipment.
* Installing mobile and static antenna on buildings or masts.
This is a free government-funded course held at a local training centre over 8 weeks, consisting of hands-on classroom-based training.
