Join a team of industry professionals within a Sydney Local Council as a Principal Planner.
This is an initial 6 month contract which has a strong likelihood of being extended.
Play a pivotal role promoting development within the community and the professional development of the team.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Principal Planner you report to the Coordinator and will be responsible for coordinating Council reports to planning panels, assess and report on major and complex development applications and act as an expert witness in the Land and Environment Court if required.
You will also play a crucial role in assisting other more junior development planners and staff in assessing development applications and interpreting planning issues.
DUTIES.
Coordinating Council reports to planning panels Assess and report on major and complex development applications and liaise with the public and developers Assisting and mentoring junior development planners and staff Providing written and verbal advice regarding land use, zoning, planning legislation, Council policies and procedures SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
Degree qualifications in Town Planning or related Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work in a team and autonomously CULTURE.
