Financial Counsellor - Partners in Wellbeing Financial Counselling
* Part-time (0.8FTE) position until June 2025
* WFH position + the option to work from one of the offices + within the community.
* Salary: $49.50 - 52.55 ph + 11% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550
Our Partners in Wellbeing Small Business Financial Counselling team is seeking a Financial Counsellor to join their team on a work from home basis!
As Financial Counsellor, you will:
* Provide free, confidential, and independent support to financially disadvantaged and vulnerable Flood-impacted Small Business Owners in Victoria, helping them set financial goals, manage their financial situations, and develop strategies to reduce future financial difficulties.
* Assess financial situations, offering information and options, assisting with advocacy and negotiation, and providing comprehensive casework and liaison with legal and financial institutions.
* Coordinate responses through collaboration with allied services, participate in community and state-wide activities, and maintain accurate client data.

Along with a passion for supporting others, you will have:
* A fully completed Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) with a minimum of 2 years of working experience.
* Professional membership with Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic).
* Completion of the Small Business units on FCVic portal (highly advantageous).
* Awareness of disaster recovery specific case work (highly advantageous).
* Demonstrated competence and experience in an area of clinical practice with clients with multiple or complex needs.
* Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector, or an appreciation and understanding of community organisations and their operation, will help you navigate and be confident in possible referral pathways for clients.
Who you’ll be working with
Reporting to the Team Lead, you will be part of a team of Financial Counsellors who work closely with other service components of the program including Wellbeing Coaches and Business Advisors. The team has an online afternoon catch-up at 4:30pm each day.
