Senior Credit Analyst Job Description
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Credit Analyst to join our Credit team. This individual will support experienced Relationship Managers in achieving financial targets and maintaining strong risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Gather all relevant credit information and financial reports for submission to relationship managers to facilitate new business acceptance and renewal of existing accounts.
* Assist with the credit assessment of new facility applications, preparation of expression of interest letters, and communication with clients and brokers.
* Complete financial models, risk grades, and risk submissions for new and existing client facilities, making recommendations to relationship managers and the credit committee.
* Accurately compile term sheets for new clients and facility renewals/variations, as well as create tax invoices.
* Liaise with panel lawyers to facilitate creation of new security documents and maintenance of existing security documents.
* Research across construction and engineering markets, including relevant sectors, clients, and competitors.
* Prudently review bond applications, bond wording, and construction contracts.
* Assist with preparation and maintenance of internal management reports.
* Develop and maintain client/broker expectations and work relationships with all stakeholders, including participation in meetings, calls, and functions.
* Perform general administration, customer service, daily workflow management, and update the Surety database with respect to all client facilities, security, requests, and maintenance.
* Assist with updating the Amber list regarding higher-risk client facilities.
Requirements:
* 7+ years of experience in a credit role within corporate/institutional banking.
* Business/finance-based tertiary qualification and relevant industry experience.
* Experience dealing with customers/brokers (relationship management) and providing high-quality service.
* Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
* Strong attention to detail on all activities, especially with respect to preparing financial models, risk grades, credit paper writing, and facility/security documentation.
* Sound business acumen, risk management, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to make commercial recommendations to credit decision makers.
* Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise conflicting business priorities.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
