Senior Analyst, Business Controls & Monitoring (Merchants)Westpac Banking Corporation, Sydney, AustraliaJob DescriptionAll roles at Westpac Group can be considered for flexible working arrangements, such as flexible hours, working remotely, part-time work, or job sharing.Permanent Full-timeSydney, hybrid workingFantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in risk How will I help?As a Senior Analyst, BCM, you will support risk management and monitoring activities including the implementation and adherence to the risk management frameworks, policies, and controls across the Merchant Village within the Cash and Transactional Banking (C&TB) Line of Business (LOB).As part of a team of risk professionals, you will contribute to ensuring the Merchants Village risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and risk appetite of the LOB, C&TB Division, and Westpac Group.As a trusted adviser, you must stay abreast of changes to policy requirements/guidance and support the Village with understanding, embedding, and rolling out these changes.Previous risk experience is not necessary to this role.You will learn to support the Senior Managers in providing risk expertise and navigating incident and issue rectification, remediation, and regulatory updates for the Merchants Village, including:Leading incident verification and root cause analysis activities within required SLAsFacilitating effective collation of information to support compliance assessment within required timeframesSupporting regulatory notices, ensuring factual accuracy of information summarising the breach, root cause, rectification, and remediation activities within required reporting timeframesEnhancing issues and incident management practicesMonitoring and tracking sustainable rectification and remediationEnsuring any incidents and issues to the Value Chain risk profile are appropriately considered and updatedProviding controls expertise to assist with identification, uplift, or building of controlsTesting the design and operational effectiveness of controlsProviding effective risk and control expertise for change initiativesCoaching and supporting the Merchants Village to build greater risk awareness, culture, and maturity What do I need?To be successful in this role, you must have a strong commercial acumen and experience in retail banking products as a financial services professional, where experience in Merchant Payments is highly desirable.You must also be a customer outcomes focused individual who is proactive, organised, and adaptable to achieve objectives in a changing environment.You will have strong teamwork skills and the ability to build relationships and work as part of a cohesive team.#J-18808-Ljbffr
