What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Provisional Fellow Paediatrics is to provide high quality medical care under appropriate supervision to patients within the Paediatric Unit, Neonatal Unit and other relevant services. The Wollongong Hospital General Paediatric Provisional Fellow will supervise a team of five paediatric trainees and senior and prevocational resident medical officers. Wollongong Paediatrics has a 24 hour junior medical officer workforce. The Fellow will be involved in acute and outpatient paediatric care including daily acute review clinics in the Paediatric Assessment Unit, General Paediatric Outpatient Clinics in the hospital and in private consulting rooms.
The Provisional Fellow position is accredited by the RACP General Paediatric Specialist Advisory Committee and supports developing the skills that are required for Paediatric training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. The Fellow will have the opportunity to gain on call experience by acting as the first on call in the consultant roster. The University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine offers research and teaching opportunities and conjoint appointments are available to interested Fellows.
