We are now seeking a Senior Evaluation and Insights Officer for a 12-month contract, who will play a pivotal role in planning, managing and conducting monitoring & evaluation activities to measure the impact of Canteen's programs and services.
In this role you will analyse complex data sets to generate actionable insights that inform decision-making and improve organisational performance.
You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end project management, from scoping of the project through to external dissemination of key findings.
The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure evaluations align with strategic goals, reporting findings to key stakeholders.
You will also play a critical role in developing and refining evaluation methodologies, ensuring they are rigorous and tailored to Canteen's needs.

This involves running workshops with key stakeholders, collecting and analysing data, tracking key performance indicators, and generating reports that provide insights into project outcomes and areas for improvement.Gather data from various stakeholders, including young people and families, team members, and external partners using quantitative and qualitative methods.Use statistical software and other analytical tools to interpret data and identify data insights to identify areas where program & services can be optimised to improve impact.Ensure that impact considerations are integrated into the planning and design of new initiatives.Ensure that impact assessments comply with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of evaluation projects, ensuring alignment with Canteen goals and objectives.
This includes defining project scope, setting timelines, and the execution of project tasks to deliver results on time and within budget.Ensure that all monitoring and evaluation activities adhere to quality standards and Canteen policies, conducting regular reviews and audits to maintain high levels of project integrity and effectiveness.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and stakeholder expectations are managed.
This includes regular communication, facilitating meetings, providing updates on project progress, and addressing any issues or risks that arise.Work with program & service heads and managers and other stakeholders to implement changes based on monitoring and evaluation findings, and reviewing the implementation of changes to ensure they lead to the desired outcomes.Maintain transparency in reporting and ensure that findings are shared with relevant stakeholders, sharing knowledge and best practices within Canteen to promote a culture of continuous learning.Prepare reports and other publications (e.g.
guidelines, journal articles and conference presentations) to disseminate research findings to internal and external audiences.
Preparation and delivery of conference presentations and publication of journal articles.Represent Canteen at relevant forums, committees, and conferences.About You Tertiary qualification in evaluation, social sciences, health sciences, behavioural science or a related field with a strong focus on data analysis and research & evaluation methodology.A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in Impact & Evaluation.Experience in implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Plans, including the co-design of program logics.Experience in using a range of outcomes and impact measurement approaches and techniques.
Experience with developing program logics and monitoring and evaluation plans, preferably in a health-related field.Demonstrated experience with quantitative and qualitative methods, including preparing, organising and distributing surveys; conducting interviews or focus groups, analysing and reporting on data.Experience in leading projects within a dynamic and complex environment, ensuring projects meet timelines and deliverables working collaboratively in teams and autonomously.Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining strategic relationships both internally and externally with key stakeholders.Contribute to high quality reports, conference presentations and other deliverables including the preparation of manuscripts for publication.Strong organisational/project planning and time management skills.Computer literacy, especially in MS Office, Excel, SPSS (or similar statistical package), Qualtrics, EndNote, Salesforce and PowerBi.A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.Warm, compassionate, and friendly approach to supporting our young people.Applications close on 22 March 2025.
