The day to dayResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Supervising in assigned department/sectionTrain all staff to ensure correct processes are followed as outlined in published policies/procedures/methodsEnsure all duties and position responsibilities are performed correctly as outlined in published policies, procedures, and methodsEnsure all production targets are met and routinely communicate progress to the Laboratory ManagerUndertake regular follow-up and review to ensure production targets are met and priorities are followedProvide regular feedback to staff regarding compliance with production targets, priorities, and quality.Effectively manage staff resources and roster requirementsMaintain infrastructure (machinery/equipment including consumable levels) as requiredAssist with production-related activities as and when requiredEnsure work areas are kept clean and tidyEnsure staff adhere to all ALS HSE policies and proceduresOther duties as directed by the Laboratory Manager or designateThe EssentialsPrevious experience in a supervisory role in a high-throughput laboratoryStrong leadership skills and relevant experience in managing, leading and motivating staffAn unwavering commitment to quality and a detailed laboratory QA/QC understandingA highly organised nature with an ability to manage multiple objectives dailyNumerical skills and technical knowledge of all tasks as appropriate.Understanding of equipment use and procedures.Understanding of production targets and how to meet targets.Appropriate chemical knowledge.Awareness of ISO and NATA.Working at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.We are a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
