About the Role Joining a professional and supportive team as an Advocate - Disability you'll be providing information, referral, support, and representation to ADA Australia clients, focusing on individuals with disability, their families, or unpaid caregivers. Working from home and our office at either Nerang or Varsity Lakes, you'll be connecting with clients by phone, email and face to face across the Gold Coast region. You'll ensure our clients have access to disability advocacy that promotes and protects their full and equal enjoyment of all human rights. Responsibilities include Providing high-quality advocacy through information, education, support, and representation Interpretation and application of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures Networking and building relationships with other organisations and within the local community Effectively communicating with clients and stakeholders to achieve clients' goals Maintaining accurate records and systems administration. About you Understanding and experience in providing advocacy to people with disability Experience in community, human or disability support services Experience assisting vulnerable people in complex settings Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Resilient and individual focused approach Ability to work autonomously and within a team Ability to be collaborative and resourceful to find solutions Effective organisational skills Strong computer and administration skills Tertiary qualification e.g. Bachelor in related human services area or Diploma in community services (desirable).
