The Position We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our recovery team.
The role is an essential part of the perioperative nursing team that cares for and monitors patients as they recover from the effects of anesthesia.
Recovery nurses are responsible for all aspects of patient care following surgery which includes monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing the pain and nausea that often follow anaesthesia.
Recovery nurses must be able to think critically, make confident decisions in a fast-paced clinical environment and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
As a Clinical Nurse, you will assist the Nurse Unit Manager to provide expert clinical and patient centered care and support the provision of quality and cost-effective nursing services which are consistent with contemporary standards and evidence-based practice.
The Friendlies currently have a five (5)-theatre complex that provide a wide range of surgeries, including ENT, Orthopaedic, General, Plastic and Cosmetic, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Urology and Vascular Surgery.

Key Selection Criteria Evidence of tertiary qualifications & current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards) highly desirable Certified in Advanced Life Support Experience in a Recovery setting (minimum 1 year) with the ability to think critically and make confident decisions in a fast-paced clinical environment Working knowledge of RosterOn, Riskman, Trendcare and Microsoft applications Working knowledge of patient flow and bed management Attention to detail to ensure documentation is current, accurate, timely and the ability to maintain confidentiality How to Apply Please submit the following: A cover letter that addresses the 'Key Selection Criteria' (maximum 2 pages) A detailed resume (including 2 professional referees) Submit your application on our website https://thefriendlies.org.au/careers/ Applications that do not meet the above requirements will not be shortlisted.
