About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive After-Hours Youth Support Worker to provide professional and consistent support to young men and women who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness. You will support the case management team to create a therapeutic environment within the crisis accommodation setting.
Reporting to the After Hours Client Services Coordinator, this is a casual position, based in Shepparton, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 3.
You will successfully
* Assist residents to manage and maintain individual and shared living spaces
* Maintain accurate record keeping that meets legislative standards and are completed within a timely manner
* Ensure the safe management of the crisis accommodation program after hours in conducting a comprehensive handover to colleagues
* Conduct case management plans to assist young people to attend appointments relating to health, housing, education, justice and social inclusion
* Assist residents with a range of activities in preparing for independent living: meals preparation; life and living skills; health and hygiene; recreation and exercise
* Assist in the daily cleaning and maintenance of the refuge environment to a high standard
You will have
* Minimum diploma level qualification in community services, social services, or related field
* Relevant experience in social service environment preferably the youth sector
* A Victoria Working with Children's Check is required prior to commencement
* A Current Driver’s Licence
