About the Office of Finance
The Office of Finance is responsible for providing expert financial and policy advice to the Vice-Chancellor, Board of Trustees and University management; delivering effective and efficient services through the functions of Financial Performance and Partnerships, Financial Accounting, Financial Services, Treasury, and Procurement.
About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within the Office of Finance for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join the team.
The Senior Finance Business Partner will drive the client relationship strategy on all financial matters, delivering insights and analysis whilst overseeing the provision of efficient and effective financial support to the client base. The Senior Finance Business Partner, as a member of the Finance Office, also forms part of the management team of their client base.
This is a full-time ongoing position based at Western’s Western’s Hawkesbury (Richmond) or Parramatta South Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required. Please review the position description for further information.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will:
* Deliver value-added financial insights, analysis and solutions to support strategic decision-making across the University.
* Drive business partnering efforts, fostering collaboration and providing expert advice on financial strategies, budgets, and projects.
* Oversee and validate budget and forecast development, ensuring reporting is tailored for executive-level stakeholders.
* Lead financial training programs to enhance client understanding of policies, systems, and key data.
* Mentor and develop direct reports, ensuring delivery of operational outputs and professional growth.
Who we’re looking for
We seek a skilled financial professional with:
* A relevant accounting qualification or equivalent combination of relevant professional experience, education/training and achievement.
* Strong relationship-building skills with demonstrated expertise in influencing and networking with senior stakeholders.
* Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and Australian Accounting Standards.
* Proficiency in Management Information Systems such as TM1 and GLwand is highly regarded.
* Proven leadership and team management experience, fostering professional development and operational excellence.
* Exceptional organisational and communication skills to thrive in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 9 $155,690 to $166,265 p.a. (comprising Salary of $131,560 to $140,496 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
