McArthur are currently seeking applications for the position of EL1 Senior Service Designer, to work with our government client.
This role is until September 2 with potential for extension.
As part of this role, your duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Lead and deliver the Current State Stakeholder Research component of the Current State Review project; adopting contemporary human centred design methodologies to deliver high quality analysis and synthesis of findings into themes, insights and areas of opportunity.
Conduct a desktop review of existing data and previous research findings to define the challenge, identify knowledge gaps, and form an initial hypothesis base to investigate in the stakeholder interviews.
Collaborate with the team Senior Organisational Analyst to identify and map current initiatives and services available.
Perform customer and stakeholder workshops using quantitative and qualitative online and offline methods, to understand the needs and motivations driving behaviours, and to fill the gaps identified in the desktop review.
Synthesise research data to identify themes and patterns leading to stakeholder insights, from which to develop solution design opportunities.
Based on research, identify ideas and initial concepts to improve interactions, both digital and in person, communicating findings and proposals in partnership with other project leads.
Produce service design deliverables such as customer interaction flows, journey maps, designs and physical/digital prototypes.
Work in collaboration with relevant teams to reach best practice design solutions.
Build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate project progress, achievements, updated timelines and next steps with internal stakeholders and sponsors.
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
Deep theoretical and practical experience in human-centred design in complex organisational and stakeholder environments.
Demonstrated experience initiating and leading complex innovation projects (from a subject matter and stakeholder perspective) while applying agile methodology.
Well-developed research and analytical skills - the ability to practice divergent and convergent thinking; ability to draw on literature, evidence and information from diverse disciplines and fields into practical action; and ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data to draw insights.
Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated experience delivering high quality outcomes on time limited projects, with proven capacity to prioritise, and achieve results while remaining customer focussed.
Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills with previous experience engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve optimal business outcomes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality written documentation and presentation of findings in a timely manner.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline and extensive work experience.
The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of mental health services; as well as relevant experience with the Australian Public Service, and/or the Defence community.
