About the role Townsville Catholic Education (TCE) is currently seeking a People and Safety Adviser (Compliance and Capability) for a Full Time, Permanent position commencing Monday, 21 October 2024. The People and Safety Adviser (Compliance & Capability) is an integral member of the Strategy, Capability and Projects team, providing high level administrative support and advice across the team portfolio of workforce planning, reporting, data analytics, strategy and projects. Additionally, this role assumes overall responsibility for ensuring employee compliance across TCE with regards to mandatory employment obligations including but not limited to Blue Cards, professional registrations and licensing, and mandatory training. Key Accountabilities Develop, implement, and maintain the systems and processes to ensure mandatory compliance obligations are effectively monitored and addressed across TCE including but not limited to professional registrations and licensing, Blue Cards, and mandatory training. Support key workforce planning activity across the school year through the provision of high-level administrative support to the People and Safety Business Partner (Workforce Planning and Analytics) as well as advice (within scope) to schools and TCEO. Provision of high-level workforce reporting and analytics across a range of HRIS modules. Provide first-line advice and support (within scope) to schools and TCEO on industrial instruments, staffing guidelines, policies, procedures, and other guidelines prior to escalating more complex matters to the People and Safety Business Partner (Workforce Planning and Analytics) or the Senior HR Business Partner (Strategy & Capability). Assume oversight of staff compliance to mandatory employment obligations including mandatory training, Blue Cards, and professional licences and registrations across TCE; and, provide advice on matters of non-compliance to the Senior HR Business Partner (Strategy & Capability) or if appropriate, the People and Safety Education Partner (Performance & Talent) for management. Ensure integrity of employee data relating to the licences, qualifications, and registrations required by the employee to perform their role. This includes teacher registration, relevant academic, working with children registrations, relevant qualifications, and, first aid/CPR qualifications. Partner with the relevant TCEO leadership to provide HR advice and support in HR Capability related activity such as the appraisal processes for senior and middle school leaders. Develop, implement and maintain the systems and process to ensure the timely management of probation periods. Acquire and maintain knowledge of current Enterprise Agreements and Awards, legislation, relevant professional regulations (QCT, Blue Cards etc) TCE policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to the position. Manage the People & Safety intranet site, ensuring information and documentation are current, accurate, relevant, and easily accessible for employees. Support the overall success of the Strategy, Capability and Projects team by identifying, developing, implementing, and advising on process improvements and initiatives to create workflow efficiencies and improved outcomes. Additional duties as requested by the Senior HR Business Partner (Strategy & Capability). Perform the role with the highest regard to confidentiality and discretion. Foster the TCE values and sense of belonging with the organisation. About you Demonstrated ability to undertake research to prepare and present statistics and reports. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the provisions of awards, legislation, policy and procedure. Demonstrated knowledge of reporting and HRIS requirements and functionality. More than 2 years' experience in a Human Resource role, with a broad base of HR generalist skills in a medium to large organisation. Mandatory Criteria Bachelor of Human Resources or an equivalent relevant experience or education. Current Driver's Licence. Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
