About Coombabah State School
Coombabah State School is a co-educational State School located in the Gold Coast North District of the Department of Education, Queensland. It is one of three state primary schools that service the large area bounded by the Pacific Highway, the Coomera River, the Broadwater and the Gold Coast Highway. Specifically, it services the suburbs of Hope Island, Paradise Point, Hollywell, Runaway Bay and Coombabah.
The school has a multi-coded Special Education Centre to support students with intellectual and physical impairments or A.S.D. A number of visiting specialists such as Guidance Officer, Advisory Visiting Teachers and Speech Language Pathologists support students with specific needs.
About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
* Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
* Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
* Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
About You
Our ideal applicant will have extensive knowledge of the following:
* organising a team of inclusion teachers,
* organising support in collaboration with staff (inclusion and mainstream teachers) and administration,
* managing timetables,
* NCCD data and Oneschool functionality
* managing high level behaviour needs
The ideal candidate will need to have a passion to still be responsible for provision of learning for some students with extensive needs as the load is 0.5 teaching/0.5 HOD.
