We are searching for an experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team at Cape Lodge in Margaret River. Cape Lodge offers an intimate luxury experience with 22 secluded guest rooms and a grand 4-bedroom private residence. The acclaimed Cape Lodge Restaurant, one of Western Australia’s premier dining destinations, serves seasonal menus celebrating the finest local produce from Margaret River’s farms, our own kitchen garden, and pristine coastal waters. As Head Chef, you’ll oversee all kitchen operations, create innovative seasonal menus, and ensure each dish embodies our high standards. You’ll be an inspirational leader, nurturing a culture of excellence, creativity, and respect among a dedicated team.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Direct and manage all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control
2. Lead and mentor a team of chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
3. Design and execute seasonal menus that highlight the best of regional produce
4. Uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene
5. Manage kitchen budgets, focusing on efficient food and labor cost control
6. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver seamless service and exceptional guest experiences
What We're Looking For
1. Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Head Chef or in a senior role within a renowned restaurant or hotel
2. Expertise in contemporary Australian cuisine with a strong commitment to quality
3. Outstanding leadership and team-building skills with a talent for inspiring and motivating others
4. Keen attention to detail and an uncompromising dedication to food safety and hygiene
5. Strong budgeting and inventory management capabilities
6. Resilient under pressure, organised, and punctual
