SAIC has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer in Australia to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on protection of mission systems. Relocation assistance is provided as well as housing stipend, cost of living, and other allowances for the duration of the tour. The successful candidate will:Directly contribute to government’s mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership and proactive action on mission protection activities.Collaborate with internal and external entities for activities associated with site and mission inspections and report findings and recommendations.Coordinate and support assessment of mission essential functions.Support Weapons and Tactics teams by assessing current and emerging threats; contribute to space protection doctrine, strategies, plans, architectures, and associated requirements; provide vetted analysis and recommendations to improve space protection architectures and capabilities; develop threat mitigation tactics, techniques, and procedures. Train operations personnel on threat mitigation.Monitor and evaluate war games and exercises (as requested), capture and assess lessons learned for best practice implementation to further improve space protection efforts.Define solutions for broad, abstract topics, succinctly capture risk and issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendations.Review documentation, represent government as required in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts.QualificationsRequired:Must be a US Citizen.Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, both current within 4 years prior to start.Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years or more relevant experience.Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.In-depth knowledge of satellite operations and satellite components (bus and payload) and associated ground systems and related mission protection topics.Knowledge of orbital mechanics; analyzes and readily articulates pros/cons of orbital changes.Self-starter, reputation for successfully anticipating and proactively addressing customer requirements with minimal supervision; ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment; master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders.Superior data management/data visualization skills and use of appropriate tools.Ability to work independently and with a team, operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates.Experience with Jira, Confluence, Systems Tool Kit (STK).Desired:Familiar with Digital Engineering/MBSE, AGILE development, cloud technologies.Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operator.Successful record of project management experience with delivered systems.SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
