The Role
MQ Health Clinical Trials Unit is seeking a Senior Pharmacist to join their team to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative clinic environment. This person will play an essential role to ensure safe administration of study medication to clinical trial participants and help mitigate risks of errors in prescribing, labelling and administration.
The Senior Clinical Trial Pharmacist, a member of the Clinical Trials team, works closely with hospital pharmacists, investigators, clinical trial coordinators and other trial staff, and with trial participants, to ensure the safe administration of investigational agents.
Key accountabilities of this role include (but not limited to):
4. Oversee the management of investigational products being used in clinical trials including medicines, biologicals and gene therapy, to ensure correct prescribing and administration of all clinical trial medications.
5. Participate in the feasibility of new trials at the site, site selection visit and site initiation visits to ensure mitigation of risks to patient safety associated with prescribing and administration of clinical trial medications.
6. Contribute to the development, and ensure compliance with, processes for safe delivery of investigational product including supply, ordering, handling, storage, dispensing, accountability and destruction in accordance with the current approved trial protocols, hospital policies, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans, and SHPA standards of Practice of Pharmacy Investigational Drugs Service, and Australian Legislation and Regulations
About You :
Reporting to the Clinical Trials Unit Director, you will be proficient in the delivery of professional pharmaceutical services to Clinical Trials participants. You will be familiar with delivering advice to Clinicians and Sponsors and seeking avenues for building sponsor relationships. Experience working as a pharmacist within Clinical Trials is required.
